Description
Our thriving ophthalmology practice is currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Medical Scribe to
assist our healthcare team with documenting patient medical records. The successful applicant will be
responsible for documenting accurate and detailed information of patient visits. The ideal candidate will
provide the highest quality customer service to patients, adhere to practice protocols and processes, and
effectively manage the volume of work without allowing quality to be compromised. If you have prior

Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently records the details of patient visits as the physician or advanced practice provider dictates. This includes documenting the patient's history, physical exams, symptoms, diagnoses, test results, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Enters data into the EMR system, updates patient records, and retrieves past medical records, lab results, and imaging studies for the provider's review.
- Prepares patient charts for upcoming appointments to ensure all necessary information is readily available for the provider.
- Manages various clerical tasks to improve clinic efficiency, such as assisting with referral letters and electronically prescribing medications at the provider's direction.
- Tracks and retrieves laboratory and imaging results, ensuring they are reviewed by the provider in a timely manner.
- Adheres to all healthcare regulations and policies, including HIPAA, to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained.
Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact professionally with providers, staff, and patients.
- The ability to listen and document accurately in a fast-paced environment is critical for patient safety and record integrity.
- Must be able to work efficiently in a dynamic and high-pressure clinical setting.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities are required to handle multiple tasks and maintain detailed records.
- Exhibits a high level of professionalism, integrity, and respect for patient confidentiality.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification or scribe certification a plus.
