Job Summary
Guard’s patient, staff and property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties
Job Responsibilities
- Other duties may be assigned.
 - Patrols buildings and grounds within the Network on a routine basis.
 - Examines doors, windows, offices and equipment to determine they are properly secured.
 - Communicates policy infractions to customers, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and detains persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts, or escorts off campus.
 - Provides escorts for customers to their vehicles.
 - Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked and equipment left on.
 - Conducts safety/security educational programs.
 - Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of persons engaged in suspicious or criminal acts.
 - Records data such as property damage or unusual occurrences.
 - Monitors parking control and visitation programs.
 - Determines where a potential security risk exists and the best way to minimize the risk.
 - Displays competency in the role of Security Officer as evidences in the annual Performance Appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards.
 
Qualifications
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to two years related security or law enforcement experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also possess a current Illinois driver’s license.
Required Experience: The employee must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills must be continuously demonstrated with all customers.
