POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations is responsible for regional performance and will report to and work closely with the SVP, Operations for the Western Slope and other company leaders to become the best eyecare provider within their region, and a sought-after destination for patients, teammates, and doctors. Responsibilities to drive performance include, but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as a strategic partner to the SVP of Operations and Market President/Lead Surgeon, leveraging their expertise and market insights to drive regional performance and key strategic initiatives.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with senior leadership, providers, and team members across all levels.
- Own overall accountability for regional performance, including profitability, clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and team engagement.
- Foster a collaborative culture with EVP operational leadership, regional physicians, practice leaders, and ASC managers to develop and implement strategic, operational, and tactical goals.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight to regional practice leaders, ASC managers, and other regional personnel, ensuring alignment with EVP’s mission, vision, and values.
- Establish clear success metrics and lead a robust performance management process, including the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Actively support and coach Practice Leaders, ASC Managers, and regional leadership to meet performance targets and achieve their professional development goals.
- Ensure all regional initiatives prioritize exceptional patient experiences; assess strategic decisions through a patient-centered lens.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with EVP departments, including Compliance, People & Culture, RCM, IT, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Accounting, to align resources and support regional goals.
- Maintain a forward-looking perspective by actively listening, continuously learning, and adapting strategies in consultation with physicians and EVP leadership.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Communications, Business, Marketing, or other related field. Appropriate experience may replace
- Must be organized, self-motivated, energetic, capable of strong presentations, and have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to quickly build rapport with team members and doctors, and work cross-functionally
- 5+ years of experience in a program/project role and operational experience in a physician practice
- environment, Optometry or Ophthalmology preferred
- Strong demonstrated experience in project management using a wide range of tools and in a variety of environments
- Exceptionally strong analytical skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Basic knowledge of financial concepts, procedures, and practices
- Problem-solving, organization skills, and strong attention to detail
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and highly self-motivated in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
