Job Summary:

Catawba Two Kings Casino is hiring a Count Room Team Member! Count Room Team Member is responsible for accurately collecting, counting, and recording currency and gaming revenues from slot machines, table games, and other revenue centers. This position requires strict adherence to internal controls, regulatory compliance, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly secure environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Retrieve drop boxes from slot machines, table games, kiosks, and other gaming or non-gaming areas as assigned. 
  • Effectively perform the functions of counting, sorting, strapping, racking, transporting, and recording of all funds in the count operation.
  • Produce and maintain accurate count data.
  • Ensure that cash boxes are removed from carts, scanned, and put through the MPS system. 
  • Ensure that all monies are verified, proofed, strapped and bricked with the required information on the straps. 
  • Ensure all logs and forms are completed daily. 
  • Transport money carts to needed storage areas. 
  • Report any box or table box problems to the Count and Drop management team. 
  • Perform as a team member and assist fellow employees to ensure smooth operation. 
  • Maintain proficiency in the operation of all programs and equipment used in the drop and count process.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, tribal, and federal regulations, as well as internal controls. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure count room environment.
  • Report any irregularities or suspicious activities to management or surveillance.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skill.
  • Interacting positively through relationships with guests, fellow team members, and members of the management team displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people’s needs. 
  • Greet internal and external guests appropriately, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner. 
  • Preform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Previous experience in cash handling, accounting, or casino operations preferred. 
  • Experience operating currency counting machines is a plus.
  • Must pass a background check as required by company policy and regulatory agencies.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work a alternate schedule as needed.
  • Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to second-hand cigarette smoke).
  • Strong numerical and organizational skills. 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 
  • Discreet and trustworthy with confidential information. 
  • Must be able to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays required. 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to push and pull carts and carry up to 30 pounds of boxes filled with currency. 
  • Manual dexterity to casino chips and paper bills.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role (e.g., standing, Kneeling, bending, twisting, gripping, reaching, and/or sitting for long periods of time, lifting to 40 lbs., working in secured rooms). 
  • Exposure to high volume noise.
  • Must be able to work in a tight enclosed windowless environment.
  • Fast-paced and high-security work setting. 

 

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; talk, hear, and see. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
