Job Summary:

The Assistant - Risk is a versatile professional who provides administrative and analytical support to the claims team while assisting with risk management and basic financial-related tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple priorities efficiently. Success in this role depends on accuracy, timeliness, and strong collaboration skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Claims Support:
    • Assist Claims Examiners with investigations, documentation, and analysis of claims
    • Prepare and type claim letters, subrogation letters, and salvage letters; follow up as needed
    • Collect documents from internal departments (HR, Tech Services, etc.) and third parties
    • Audit claim files for completeness and accuracy
    • Maintain the claims management system, updating suit, trial, mediation, and attorney information
    • Scan, organize, and maintain claim files
    • Answer incoming calls and route appropriately; handle basic inquiries without adjuster intervention
  • Risk & Reporting:
    • Assist in analyzing claim trends and contributing to risk management discussions
    • Run and compile reports from claims systems
    • Participate in insurance renewal meetings and provide input
  • Administrative & Project Support:
    • Schedule calls, meetings, and adjuster calendars
    • Maintain contact charts, attorney listings, and other reference materials
    • Support management with special projects and events
    • Assist with administration of driver certificates of insurance
    • Conduct EOBR log audits in coordination with Sky Tank and Extended Services

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum 2 years of claims experience in an administrative role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with multiple software applications and claims systems
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Business or a related field preferred
  • Claims Adjuster’s License preferred
  • Experience using Origami preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office and computer equipment.
