Communication, Adjunct Faculty presso Florida Gulf Coast University

Florida Gulf Coast University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. Assignments will include teaching Public and Effective Speaking classes. Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Teaching responsibilities include guiding students to develop communication skills such as speech organization, outlining, delivery, audience analysis, as well as learning how to critique speeches.

Other Duties:

• Works with Communication Lab Director to promote and support public speaking related events.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Communication

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in public speaking as well as teaching the theory and craft of public speaking.

• Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manuals related to the job tasks.

• Provide a quality student experience by creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
• Present a professional image in word, action, and attire.
• Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborates with others to achieve goals.
• Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement.
