The Role

The Senior Project Controller (Cost) will support the Dreadnought programme within our Mission Systems business area. As a Senior Project Controller (Cost), you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of essential military capabilities. Your contributions will help shape the future of the UK’s submarine fleet. Day to day, you’ll be supporting the Project Controls Manager in providing project cost control services across the Dreadnought programme.

 

  • Assess and manage financial impacts of changes in project scope, requirements, or objectives.
  • Identify risks and variances impacting the Estimate to Complete (ETC).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Ensure financial alignment with the approved budget.
  • Conduct cost forecasting, variance analysis, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement effective cost control measures.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the project through to completion.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days onsite and 3 days working from home.

 

 

Essential Experience of the Senior Cost Controller

 

  • Experience working with senior level managers both internally and externally.
  • Ability to champion high performance and inspire others.
  • Previous experience on complex defence Projects (desirable, but not essential)
  • Considerable experience in the advanced application of Project Management techniques in a relevant technical project environment across the full project lifecycle.

 

Qualifications for the Senior Cost Controller

 

  • APM Project Management Qualification, Chartered status or equivalent (advantageous).

 

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
