Continuous Improvement Specialist presso Southern Champion Tray

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Assist the operation to achieve success by increasing productivity, reducing costs, and improving processes. As a change agent, engages Team members in process improvement, ultimately ensuring ownership and sustainability of improvement initiatives. 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:

• Leads process improvement project teams
• Able to identify non-value added tasks and remove waste within processes
  • Implements visual management tools, such as but not limited to standard work, 5s, visual management, etc. to improve Team member awareness
  • Facilitates collection of data to aid in root cause analysis
  • Aligns activities with company goals related to safety, quality, deliver, and cost
  • Driven sense of urgency to achieve goals
  • Passionate about Continuous Improvement and ability to make others successful
  • Ability to connect with Team members and obtain buy in
  • Provides analytical insight and evaluation of the organization's progress
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and prioritize improvement ideas with management
    • Leads or assists projects from idea generation to execution with the goal of improving productivity
    • Balance multiple projects and meet deadlines while exemplifying exceptional leadership skills
    • Target process improvement initiatives, working with process owners and project team members through all phases of planning, implementation, and control
    • Works with area leaders for all Continuous Improvement activities to ensure that processes are measured, monitored, and controlled through Standard work
    • Supports and mentors other change champions across the business to enhance SCT’s continuous improvement culture
      • Facilitate continuous improvement across local operations and act as a mentor and change agent for supervisors, and front-line personnel

 QUALIFICATIONS:  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One – four years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in MS Office applications – Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field required. Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or ability to maintain upon hire.
