Description
Position Summary: Maintains/repairs company owned warehouse equipment, primarily forklifts, scrubbers, walkie-rider pallet jacks, straddle jacks and pallet jacks. Trouble shoots and diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions and efficiently repairs the same.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must adhere to strict safe working practices, company policies, rules, and governmental regulations.
- Performs all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance, in a manner that is consistent with company and industry standards, to maintain cost efficiency and provide maximum up-time for the warehousing and delivery operations.
- Consistently maintains vehicle maintenance files, history, and records (both written and electronic,) as required by Silver Eagle maintenance protocols.
- Trouble shoots, accurately diagnoses, and repairs mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions.
- Immediately repairs or removes from service any Silver Eagle unit that does not meet Silver Eagle and/or OSHA safety standards, to eliminate exposure to risk or injury.
- Occasionally makes repairs on the road, at satellite locations, or at retail establishments.
- Occasionally performs cutting, welding and grinding, to fabricate or complete repairs.
- Must provide all necessary tools to effectively and efficiently maintain Silver Eagle warehouse equipment as described above.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Preferred education-high school diploma or GED
- Trade school certification(s) and/or some mechanical experience preferred.
- Class C DL with an acceptable driving record as determined by SEBev
- Ability to work in a multi-temperature environment.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Pushing/pulling: up to 100lbs force for turning wrenches, pulling out parts.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to inspect and or wash vehicles.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing utilizing the English language.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on the time of year. Either extreme cold or extreme heat if in summer.
- Able to work varying shifts.
- Ability to hear voice commands in areas with a high level of background noise.
- Able to maintain or utilize corrective lenses for specific vision close, distant, peripheral, depth perception.
