The Director is to lead a Team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Senior Project Coordinators in the successful completion of a portfolio of multiple projects simultaneously including duties in support of the overall Project Management Team. The Director may also manage some of the more highly complex, large, and high-risk technical projects.
The goal of the Director are to ensure the Team’s on time and on budget completion of the assigned portfolio of highly technical satellite manufacturing projects in Redmond, WA. Come join our team!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of the portfolio of projects, reporting, strategic plans and program initiatives to meet the goals and needs of the client.
- Evaluate and communicate the client’s specific goals and expectations.
- Lead the continuous evaluation of project processes and recommend areas of improvement.
- Lead the communications with and between the Team members and the client on a continuous and as needed basis, ensuring Project Team members communicate in an effective manner.
- Lead and validate team semi-annual budget development and monthly billable to date.
- Assist a Design and Construction Resource Group with creation of the PM guide covering the entirety of project delivery to standardize implementation nationwide.
- Track progress of each project against goals, objectives, budget, and schedule. Validate team inputs and conduct weekly meetings to communicate project status and risks to stakeholders and resolve potential risks.
- Source and leverage a wide variety of project-related vendors to optimize delivery and reduce costs.
- Provide written executive summaries and prepare other concise written documents summarizing project history and identifying areas for process improvement.
- Analyze project reporting generated by the PMO and utilize data to guide, coach and lead the team.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of Senior project managers.
- Ensure that rate card/preferred vendors are being utilized.
- Utilize sound judgement about when to work independently and when to pull in the client.
- Assist in evaluating new team members and making recommendations on employee personnel decisions.
- Assist with the client management and leadership of the assigned work. Complete all tasks and ensure assigned employees complete all tasks within the client, company and individual leadership principals and service level agreements (SLA’s) that may be established and updated from time to time.
- Perform other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions and additional duties assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Previous experience at a commercial GC or A&E firm managing complex projects in advanced technology labs, R&D and manufacturing facility environments.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and programs.
- Experience as an Owner’s Representative supporting a large account.
- Experience with team management (teams of 4 or greater).
- Ability to be proactive, respectful, have positive attitude and be able to gain the trust of others.
- Ability to lead the Project Team to focus on a common goal in keeping with the specific client goals and objectives.
- Knowledge and experience with appropriate construction processes, means, and methods.
- Ability to listen/communicate effectively, clearly, unambiguously, and completely in both written and oral formats.
- Ability to distinguish between cause and effect of problems, and to identify and implement solutions in a timely and cost-effective fashion.
- Ability to manage and maintain business relationships through motivation, delegation, supervision, team building, and conflict management.
- Possess strong leadership skills, including ability to delegate, exhibit confidence in self and others, inspiring and motivating others, commanding respect and trust and accepting feedback from subordinates.
- Ability to include staff in planning and decision-making.
- Clear understanding of policies and processes and to take responsibility for subordinate’s activities.
- Perform work tasks by receiving directions and then working independently.
- Demonstrate consistent ability to be dependable, diligent, and thorough.
- Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in completing tasks accurately in a compressed timeframe.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Education: BS in Construction, CM, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field
Experience: 15+ years of PM experience overall including management and leading client expectations in a client facing-role
Preferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED

The salary range for this full-time role is $159,400.00-$223,133.37 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
