Summary Performs a variety of routine administrative and clerical duties including the creation of training materials (as instructed), spreadsheets, records management, greeting and assisting staff who visit the HR office and other key support functions common to Safety, HR, and Training Departments. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:

 

  • Supports New Hire Orientation and Safety Training through delivering and/or backing up training classes
  • Formats, suggests content edits, and types a variety of documents using Microsoft Suite programs
  • Responsible for the organization and coordination of employee tracking spreadsheets, and employee file audits, (e.g., COVID Tracking, Drivers Abstracts, Performance Evaluations, etc.)
  • Composes routine correspondence and initiates required administrative reports
  • Gathers, compiles, and maintains department data and correspondence
  • Updates Jamco Central with news, articles, and applicable employee information
  • Assists in coordinating employee events
  • Organizes and maintains filing system
  • Provide support to department leaders as directed
  • Supports department and/or company-wide initiatives (e.g., Open Enrollment, Succession Planning, software implementations, etc.)
  • Acts a focal for Skills & Competency tracking
  • Enters and files/scans training records
  • Update, create, revise HR procedures and forms as directed
  • Create training materials and presentations in support of Training Department Directives
  • Schedules classes, interviews, meetings, etc.
  • May back-up receptionist on occasion
  • Perform special projects as assigned by HR Management Team
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards

Requirements

Education and/or Experience: 

Position requires the completion of high school, supplemented by basic job-related courses or training in a non-technical or vocational field. This level typically requires a minimum of 2 years of job-related experience and the use of judgment in non-routine matters.

 

  • Position requires proficiency with MS Office products to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities (manage time, self-directed)
  • Creative
  • Organized
  • Detail Oriented
  • Prior Training, Admin, HR/Safety training a plus
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports

 

Language Skill

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers of employees of organization

                                       

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
