Early Childhood Wellness Specialist



Triumph supports the education, well-being and self-sufficiency of young children and their families through high quality early childhood programs and community engagement.

 

As the Early Childhood Wellness Specialist, the primary job will be to promote a physically active lifestyle; develop cooperation, teamwork, and sportsmanship; and provide ample opportunities for children to engage in active play and movement activities during daily routines and structured activities.  The Early Childhood Wellness Specialist will develop activities to promote developmentally appropriate growth that is tailored to the developmental needs and capabilities of every child while ensuring safety during physical activities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Designing engaging physical activities that align with the developmental milestones of young children, including gross motor skills like, running, jumping, climbing, and balancing.
  • Utilizing outdoor/indoor spaces for active play, incorporating nature-based activities, and ensuring proper supervision during all active play times. 
  • Ability to demonstrate and explain basic skills, knowledge and strategies of games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement to support the children’s growth in physical skills while supporting children’s IEP or IFSP seeking clarification when needed.
  • Ability to collaborate with classroom teaching staff, the Curriculum and Professional Development Coordinator, and the Mental Health/Disabilities Coordinator to efficiently plan, organize, and fulfill position responsibilities.
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds and have the physical capacity to be an active participant in daily movement gross motor activities

Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; Bachelor preferred 
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children under 5 years old, with a focus on physical activity or play-based therapy. (including but not limited to: coaching, class/group instruction or teaching)
  • Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel locally between all three sites.
  • Familiarity with I Am Moving, I Am Learning (IMIL) and having an EEC Certification is beneficial but not required.

 

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range between $21.01 -  $26.81/hr. dependent on education and experience

Medical, Dental & Vision; Life Insurance; Short/Long term disability; 403B retirement plan with 5% agency match; 13 paid holidays per year; Paid personal, vacation, and sick time

Monday-Friday; 30 hours per week; 52 weeks per year
