Summary: Responsible for assisting with basic daily duties within the Accounting and Finance Department. Responsible for reconciling accounts within the department and other bank departments as directed and ensure reconciling items are mitigated in a timely manner. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. 

Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Perform and Manage Balance Sheet and Internal DDA Account Reconciliations
  • Create and input various general ledger entries. 
  • Assist in management of the Banks bond portfolio and transactions. 
  • Perform inquiries on correspondent bank accounts and monitoring of Banks’ daily cash position throughout the day. 
  • Assist the VP of Accounting and Finance with month end, quarter end and year end reporting packages as directed. 
  • Ad-Hoc reporting and queries as necessary.
  • Back-up to accounts payable and morning general ledger activities.
  • Assist with preparation of audit workpapers. 
  • Collaborate with other areas of the organization to maintain efficiency and quality of accounting transactions.
  • Miscellaneous other responsibilities to support the accounting and bank team. 
  • Have the ability to adhere to accounting policies, guidelines and maintain a high level of confidentiality of Bank transactions.

Education/Experience:

Desire minimum High School Diploma in related job functions; and/or minimum three years’ banking or related job experience; or equivalent combination of education and banking/related job experience.


Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to compute rate, ratio, interest, and percent and apply basic accounting concepts. 

Reasoning Ability: 

Strong detail skills; Flexible to new systems/continuous change; Strong problem solver/researcher; Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient using bank’s current Windows operating system environment and core systems.  In addition, the candidate must possess skills utilizing office automation tools like Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Word; MS Edge at the level provided by bank.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to cold temperatures (non-weather; risk of electrical shock and vibration).  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
