Until Filled - Coach and support elementary and summer operations
- Ensure alignment with and consistent interpretation of local, state and federal meal program guidelines.
- Communicate changes associated with menu, staffing and program regulations
- Troubleshoot equipment and recommend replacement
- Ensure accuracy of the point of sale system, correct deficiencies and act as a technical resource.
- Assist with meal program accommodations
- Ensure kitchen and staff comply with health and safety regulations including HACCP
- Develop and execute standard operating procedures
- Mentor and train elementary and summer staff
- Promote cross training for staff in all areas of the operation
- Conduct site staff meetings as needed
- Provide comprehensive needs based training
- Ensure meal program guidelines are adhered to
- Assist with ordering and management of inventory
- Verify accuracy of orders
- Proficient in multiple ordering platforms
- Deliver food and supply items as requested
- Supervise and evaluate staff performance
- Conduct probationary reviews for staff to provide constructive feedback
- Determine staffing needs in the event of staff absences
- Communicate performance difficulties and concerns regarding personnel issues
- Make recommendations regarding staff performance / discipline
- Perform other comparable duties as assigned.
- Attend continuing education training sessions and district department meetings
- Act as a resource for handling comments and concerns regarding the meal program from internal and
external parties - Market and promote the meal program to the community
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager or obtain within 6 months of hire date
- Minimum requirement: 3+ years of experience working for a school nutrition program
- Preferred (but not required): 2+ years supervisory experience in a related foodservice operation

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time; 8 hours per day; 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year (178 days). Full time; 6 hours per day; 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the summer (51 days).
WORK CALENDAR: 229 duty days per year

SALARY: $27.41 (entry level) to $33.00 per hour

Job Summary:
The SNS Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of elementary and summer meal programs, coaching elementary and summer school kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, nutrition, and safety. This role provides training, and oversight in key operational areas such as production, inventory, ordering, food safety, and point-of-sale systems.
