YOUR PAY
$100,000-$125,000 + Profit Sharing Bonus
Position Objective
Partners with multiple functions to analyze, report on, and add value to various aspects of the US manufacturing business including production, purchasing, engineering, project management, sales, accounting, and product costing. This person is the controlling team key point of contact related to inventory control, manufacturing variances, and in-bound freight.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Variances
- Support month-end close activities including production order settlements, inventory reserve calculations, variance analysis, and accruals for inbound freight, tariffs and other expenses.
- Analyze monthly manufacturing variances to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate insights to management.
- Analyze freight cost trends, underlying drivers, and their impact to variances.
- Provide cross-functional support on operations, inventory, and standard cost accounting topics.
- Analyze production costs and collaborate with Product Costing, Operations and Supply Chain teams to identify root causes and develop solutions for standard cost variances.
- Forecasting, Planning and Internal Reporting
- Serve as trusted partner to operations leaders and cost center owners.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly rolling forecast updates.
- Evaluate ROI and payback for capital projects and make/buy decisions, including impacts on absorption, cash flow, margin, and inventory.
- Deliver monthly internal reporting and KPIs for productivity, scrap, work order variances, PPV, and cycle counts, with commentary for leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement of controlling processes to enhance timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Apply strong analytical and financial modeling skills to develop tools and extract insights from SAP and Excel-based datasets.
- Research forecast deviations and transactional errors, determine root causes with appropriate partners, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with local and global experts on SAP standardization, automation, and process improvement initiatives.
- Inventory and Product Costing
- Partner with Purchasing, Sales, and Supply Chain to improve inventory forecast accuracy.
- Monitor cycle counts completeness and accuracy, report material adjustments, and support the annual physical inventory audit.
- Prepare periodic inventory reports and reconciliations, including car stock and consignment locations.
- Analyze material usage to identify potential excess and obsolete inventory items and partner with Sales and Operations teams to develop action plans to utilize existing E&O items.
- Provide backup support to the US Cost Estimator as needed.
- Support internal and external audit teams by serving as the US Controlling team’s subject matter expert on inventory and standard cost topics.

Relationship To Others
Frequently interacts with all levels of Wagner Spray Tech management, employees and international colleagues. Has contact and exposure to Wagner International officers, affiliated companies, bank reps, external auditors, and others.
Dimensions of Position
Ensures the accuracy of inventory values, analyzes drivers of manufacturing variances and their impact to the P&L, understands and communicates process changes impact on standard the costing model, margins, and overall P&L. Recommends and implements new concepts and approaches, regardless of obstacles, to advance the scope and value of the position.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. 6+ years of related experience with 2+ years in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the hiring manager and Human Resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- CMA and/or CPA preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of standard cost systems, cost analysis, general accounting procedures, controls, and how they affect business.
- Advanced MS Office skills: Excel, PowerPoint & Word required.
- Experience with SAP S4 preferred.
- Experience with SAP BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, and/or Power BI a plus.
- Professional, business driven mentality with the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a standard or home office environment which requires occasionally lifting articles such as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with long periods of computer work and phone usage. This position is hybrid, averaging 2 days per week in the office.
