General Summary:

Coordination and production of parts and products as needed for production including, but not limited to all activities for estimating, designing, building, welding, and repairing components.

What is the Job?

• Analyze blueprints, drawings, and read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Arranges components for welding
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts
• Align components using calipers, rulers, etc.., and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment 
• Assist in machinery repairs by welding pieces and filling gaps
• Assess welded surfaces and structure
• Consult with Department Lead on quality concerns, prioritization and scheduling, and develop estimates.
• Assists department as a back-up machine operator when welding needs are limited

Qualifications

What you bring:

• Knowledge of fabrication processing beneficial
• Previous welding and machine operating experience
• Previous experience using designing programs
• Intermediate math skills beneficial
