About the team and the role:
eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA
What you will accomplish:
Job Duties: Architect, design, and deliver complex, high-performance products capable of scaling efficiently to meet the demands of a growing user base, leveraging best practices in software engineering. Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and product mangers, to integrate diverse microservices and system components, ensuring seamless end-to-end functionality and adherence to project timelines. Lead the design and implementation of backend services and critical system components, ensuring they are optimized for handling extensive data traffic and high transaction volumes. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers, sharing expertise in modern development tools, technologies, and methodologies, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth. Present complex design solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making, and conduct thorough design reviews of peers’ work to ensure alignment with architectural standards and business objectives. Develop, maintain, and refactor code with a focus on cleanlinees, efficiency, and maintainability, and actively engage in peer code reviews to ensure the adherence to industry best practices and organizational coding standards. Devise and implement comprehensive testing strategies, including the design of robust automation frameworks, and develop extensive unit, functional, and integration tests to ensure high levels of code coverage and reliability across all software components. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (1 year)
2. Spring Boot (1 year)
3. SQL relational database, MySQL, or Oracle (2 years)
4. NoSQL databases (1 year)
5. DevOps tools and methodologies, including continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) (2 years)
6. Automated testing frameworks (unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests), ensuring high-quality, bug-free software (2 years)
7. Version control systems, particularly Git and Git workflows (branching, pull requests, merge conflicts) (2 years)
Salary: $158,735.00-222,100.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
