The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth West Division

AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

The role you’ll contribute:

The HPB Research Fellow ("Fellow") is a 12-month position designed to assist in the research of the AdventHealth Research Institute (AHRI) and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Clinical Program. The Fellow will utilize their clinical knowledge and skills to assist with development of research studies including assisting with proposals, protocols, and procedures. The Fellow will participate in the full spectrum of research activities including literature reviews, data collection, cataloging of imaging, statistical analysis, abstract preparation, and creation of presentation materials. The Fellow will play a critical role to ensure that all research performed is in compliance with all AdventHealth, AHRI, local, state, and federal laws, policies and procedures. The Fellow will actively participate in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Assists with the preparation of research grant applications.
Utilizes clinical knowledge and skills to assist with related clinical research studies.
Designs, constructs, and implements research proposals, protocols, and procedures.
Performs literature searches relevant to the assigned research topic.
Participates in data collection and analysis of research data in collaboration with Biostatisticians and other research team members.
Prepares abstracts, scholarly manuscripts, and presentations to communicate results of the research to the broader scientific community.


The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Doctorate Required
0+ Work Experience Required
Medical Doctor (MD) Required or
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and/or PhD or international equivalent in a scientific field Required
