We believe that phenomenal games start with diverse teams, mirroring the players and communities we serve. About the Role: The Quality Designer position will require you to improve the existing test methodology identifying new capabilities. You will oversee the entire quality plan for the World Art team. You will report to the QV Development Director and partner directly with the Producers and other Designers to establish quality standards and provide both quantitative and qualitative feedback on new features. Your Responsibilities Quality Strategy and Test Planning: Leverage testing skills and methodologies to systematically test the product and share resultsDesign, develop, and lead quality strategies for owned featuresImplement pre-integration build verification and reporting processesResearch and propose solutions for increasing test coverage efficiencyIdentify risks and plan testing for releasesDocument reproduction steps, gather test data, and assist in debugging Quality and Data Analysis: Compile data from multiple sources into cohesive summaries to communicate status and riskUse different testing methodologies and analyze feature sets for automation opportunities (Risk-based Testing, Data/AI-driven testing and more)Monitor game builds and follow up on fixes to ensure quality goals are metPerform design testing reviews, ensuring the design is captured and identify bugs and user concerns before they make it into software.Use development tools to guide issue identification upstream and promote defect prevention. Collaboration and Communication: Communicate status and risk through cohesive summariesServe as the communication bridge between development partners and QA teamsProvide technical, quantitative, and qualitative feedbackRepresent the QA perspective effectively in meetings, ensuring quality standards are prioritized. Mentorship and Team Support: Lead improvements and knowledge sharing across teamsPromote professional growth within the QA teamMentor and support team members in implementing quality strategiesOur Requirements:Experience and Knowledge:4+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or game designExperience with the Frostbite Game Engine Experience with mission, world and level art testingExperience with defect and task tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)Project Management for planning and execution of test strategy and tasks using Scrum/Agile processExperience working with game engines and associated tool setsExperience with game rendering, textures and vfxKnowledge of Agile/Scrum software/game developmentIn-depth knowledge of current generation console testing and software development kits Skills and Abilities:Understand concepts of defect prevention and containmentExcellent collaboration and communication skillsExperience with Grey/White box testing in development environmentsTranslate project metrics into data-driven decisions and strategiesPassion for creating high-quality player experiences Path to becoming a Quality Designer:  about the Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team at EA.From Government to Game Development, Jessica Makes a Move. Barbara Homewood had her heart set on becoming a Librarian and is now a Quality Designer at EA. One of our leaders, Ravi Minhas, shares what he is looking for in a Quality Designer.
