Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the department vehicles in a dependable, efficient, safe and reliable manner.
- Transports patients, employees, mail, specimens and other hospital activities which require driving.
- Patrols hospital parking lot when not transporting.
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record per hospital policy.
- Recognizes and responds to the needs and behaviors of patients in a variety of age groups, such as neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. (Example: Understand normal patterns of behavior.)
- Assist patients to and from the Motor Transportation vehicle.
- Ability to know the city streets regarding directions and landmarks.
- Completes daily schedules for other all Motor Transportation Drivers.
- Resolves any issues that may arise.
- Conducts vehicle inspections.
- Has full authority to counsel staff if needed.
- Conducts monthly meetings. Documents all meetings and conversations with staff and makes sure that Director of Public Safety is aware at all times.
Other Responsibilities:
- Adheres to established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Performs both essential and non-essential job functions in a safe manner as identified by Humboldt Park Health.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and models the mission and core values of Humboldt Park Health.
- Enhances professional growth and development by accessing educational programs, job related literature, in-service meetings, and workshops/seminars.
- Checks hospital email daily.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Maintains the hospital’s cell phone that is assigned.
