Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant or B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration and five years of experience in financial management or;
- In lieu of above, an appropriate combination of Bachelors' Degree and the (10) years of financial management and supervisory experience
- Detail oriented; multi-tasker; ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Non-profit experience preferred
- Ability to work as a team member
- Excellent Communication, problem solving and organizational skills, self-motivated
- Demonstrates good judgement and decision-making ability with leadership qualities
- Experienced Microsoft user; advance skills in Excel
- Valid NYS Driver’s license and ability to travel
Job Summary
- Works closely with the CEO to ensure that all Agency staff maintains agency’s fiscal accountability
- Supervises and manages all Finance Department staff
- Analysis and reporting of financial information and data to the CEO, other key staff and advisory groups
- Under the direction of the CEO, prepares, maintains and updates program financial policies and procedures to meet the requirements of Federal, State and Local laws and regulations
- Prepares budgets with input from appropriate key staff and monitors budgets throughout the fiscal year
- Continually improves the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets
- Ensures the fiscal accountability of the program by following systematic banking practices, and maintaining complete financial, legal and property records
- Responsible for grantor reports as required, to ensure compliance with the fiscal accountability requirements of the Federation’s funding sources and submission of monthly vouchers for reimbursement of expenses
- Monitors cash on hand, projects future cash requirements, and takes appropriate action to maintain adequate cash balances to meet operating expenses
- Reviews all agency bank account reconciliations
- Maintains a perpetual inventory of property, property improvements, equipment, and buses for the agency and funding sources as required
Provides all required information, documentation, and records in the facilitation of audits., federal reviews, and all other financially related oversight
Compensation; Starting at $90,000 annually
