DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (* indicates an essential function):

i. * Provide support to the Regional Manager in all areas of responsibility.
ii. * In concert with the Regional Manager, serve as the assistant regional manager whose responsibility is administratively overseeing the health care delivery system within the assigned region.
iii. * At the direction of the Regional Manager, manage and evaluate the medical programs and staff supervision in the facilities within the assigned region, in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and applicable standards.
iv. * Assist with the recruitment, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of the performance of the Health Service Administrators at each facility in the region.
v. * Ensure that all Health Service Administrators have an operational understanding of Company policies and procedures and are operating their assigned facilities in accordance with the Company mission.
vi. * Provide support and direction to all staff within the assigned region to include training and direction on Company policies and procedures, use of Company systems, and resolving basic employee issues/concerns.
vii. * Conduct visits to each site in the assigned region on a bi-weekly basis. Meet with facility superintendent/warden to identify and resolve concerns.
viii. * Review patients with serious catastrophic, acute, and/or chronic health problems and ensure that necessary intervention and treatment is rendered and report all patient concerns to Corporate Risk Management.
ix. * Assist the Regional Manager in the timely completion of all assigned/required reports to Company and facility administration. x. * Maintain a professional, tactful, and diplomatic nursing attitude and working relationship with all facility staff, contracted providers, outside service providers, and Company staff at all times. Function as a professional role model for all staff.
xi. * Ensure accurate payroll records are submitted by subordinate staff, in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
xii. * Review medication and sharps count logs in each facility bi-weekly for accuracy and compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, in addition to compliance with Company policies and procedures.
xiii. * Coordinate with the Regional Manager to facilitate the development and monitoring of all subordinate staff.
xiv. Audit patient records to ensure appropriate care is rendered. Escalate concerns to Risk Management, as appropriate.
xv. Monitor, evaluate, and recommend methods to improve operational efficiency and cost containment effectiveness.
xvi. Monitor all disaster plans and drills conducted within each facility and provide training and feedback to the Regional Manager, facility and Company staff, as needed. xvii. Ensure Company staff participate in all required training. xviii. Attend facility meetings at least monthly.
xix. Attend seminars, workshops, and conferences as directed by the Regional Manager and/or Vice President.
xx. Ensure and maintain confidentiality of all patient and staff information at all times.
xxi. Perform all other duties as assigned or delegated by management.
Requirements

i. *Must be able to push/pull/lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
ii. *Must be able to timely respond to emergency situations throughout the correctional facility and be able to perform lifesaving measures, such as CPR, on patients in either a standing, kneeling, or bent position for at least twenty (20) minutes.
iii. * Must be able to work nights and weekends on an as needed basis within the assigned region.
iv. * Flexibility in work schedule is required as is temporary flexibility in work location(s).
v. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
vi. * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working at a computer, and traveling in a vehicle for long periods of time.
