REQUIRED QUALIFICATONS: - Current Michigan Certification with appropriate endorsement for specified subject area – special education with a cognitive impairment endorsement.
- Ability to successfully teach students with special needs and challenging behavior.
- Ability to teach basic living skills, communication, pre-vocation and functional academics.
- Proficiency in implementing IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Ability to supervise staff.
- Must be willing to assist students with basic needs including feeding, toileting, etc.
- Knowledge of PLC’s, PBS, Bridges Math, Readers and Writers Workshop, Essential Elements.
- Ability to modify and make accommodations to general education curriculum.
- Must attend and successfully complete CPI training prior to the start of the school year and maintain certification annually.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
Endorsement in Autism Impairment or Cognitive Impairment
