The Business Analyst will work developers, business development, engineering and operations to gather and analyse requirements to ensure software systems align with the operational needs of the project. Where the project has a safety requirement the business analyst will adhere to industry guidance.
Collaborate with rail project stakeholders including engineers, planners, and operations teams to understand business needs and regulatory requirements.
Assess, document, and validate system requirements for systems including CCTV, PIS, Analytics (e.g. Passenger Counting), train management systems (TMS) to ensure relevant compliance is met.
Translate operational processes into functional specifications and user stories for development teams.
Support the integration of software systems with existing rail infrastructure and data sources.
Conduct gap analyses and recommend digital solutions to improve efficiency, safety, and compliance.
Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and technical reviews.
Assist in system testing, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Ensure documentation aligns with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., RIS, RSSB, Network Rail standards).
Provide data analytics and reporting for systems data.
Managing change within the SDLC to ensure that the software not only meets the requirements of customers but also adds value to the business
Backlog Management - Proficiently breaking down features into digestible, prioritized segments is crucial for streamlining workflow efficiency
