The Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial recordkeeping. This position assists with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable processing, and month-end close activities. The role works closely with the Senior Accountant and Controller to maintain timely and accurate financial information that supports business decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Prepare and post journal entries for standard transactions, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other recurring items, ensuring proper documentation and coding to the general ledger
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, variance analysis, and supporting schedules to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial results
Reconcile general ledger accounts such as cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities, promptly resolving discrepancies or reconciling items
Assist in maintaining fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules
Support accounts payable processing, including reconciling supplier invoice requests and POs, entering invoices into Workday, ensuring proper coding and approval, and following up on supplier inquiries
Prepare and file year-end 1099s; review vendor data and ensure proper classification of payments
Generate customer invoices, credit memos and apply cash receipts to customer accounts; research and resolve customer billing or payment discrepancies in coordination with finance and operational teams
Reconcile credit card transactions loaded into Workday for accuracy, correcting discrepancies as needed; prepare expense reports for certain corporate cards, collecting receipts and supporting documentation, and ensuring reports are coded to proper accounts and departments.
Perform other general financial analyses and projects, as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field required
1 year of relevant professional experience required; however, strong internship experience may be considered
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP required
Experience with month end close process, preparing journal entries and account reconciliations required
General knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions required
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Quickbooks Enterprise, or similar) required; Credit card expense reporting preferred

Employment Status: Full time (1.0 FTE)
Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40
Hours of work: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Days worked: Monday to Friday
Hybrid work option (3 in-office, 2 remote) and limited travel
