Description
The Director of Patient Services will be an integral part of the Patient Services team and will
hold a pivotal leadership role, with a significant focus on developing, implementing, and
managing a patient-centric patient support program. The role will be instrumental in ensuring
that patients receive exceptional care and support with Catalyst Pharmaceutical products.
The Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the patient
services program and identifying areas for program optimization through vendor
management, program analytics, and industry trends. The main objectives are to research,
implement and maintain compliant processes and programs to strengthen the patient
experience while delivering these compliantly. This person will partner with commercial
teams, particularly patient marketing and data analytics to keep the Patient Services team
informed of essential reports, programs, and training as well as legal and compliance updates.
In addition, they will coordinate status updates for the Executive Director of Patient Services &
Market Access.
This is a remote position and will require monthly travel to the HQ office in Coral Gables, FL.
Requirements
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Work in close collaboration with the Executive Director of Patient Services & Market Access on the design, development, and implementation of patient support programs throughout the product lifecycle that set industry standards for patient care, ensuring that it aligns with Catalyst's mission and values
- In partnership with the Executive Director of Patient Services & Market Access, develop, execute, and oversee a comprehensive patient experience strategy that integrates the patient support program and enhances the overall patient experience
- Monitor and analyze policies and regulations with the Executive Director of Patient Services & Market Access, to identify compliant tactics that enhance patient support throughout their journey with Catalyst Pharmaceuticals products
o Serve as the subject matter expert and collaborate with other departments as appropriate during
annual business planning to provide insights for strategic planning purposes
o Coordinate with the Executive Director and other departments to ensure that the patient support meets
regulatory guidelines and industry standards
o Recommend/build/deliver specific training for field-based teams when appropriate
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Market Access, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Advocacy, and Sales, to seamlessly integrate the patient support program and patient-centric principles into all aspects of the company's operations
- Upon acquiring new products or launches, lead the research efforts to understand patient population needs, competitor support programs, and insurance coverage
- Partner with the Executive Director and other relevant stakeholders to develop effective patient strategies
- Ensure strategies address patient needs, align with the company’s strategic direction, and maintain consistency within the department
- Work closely with commercial and Patient Services Operations to collect and analyze patient feedback for patient support programs within the context of the patient support program
- Use feedback insights to continuously enhance and optimize patient services and program effectiveness throughout the product lifecycle
- Work in conjunction with Patient Services Operations and Field Directors to identify compliant bonus structures for the field-based team
- Recommend incentive programs that align with job descriptions and support key critical success factors the Patient Services team
- Coordinate with the Executive Director of Patient Services & Market Access to develop and manage the budget for patient experience initiatives, focusing on cost-effective, results-driven resource allocation for the patient support program
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the success of the patient support program, and regularly report progress and outcomes to senior leadership
- Oversee and manage any trade-related issues for products and services by coordinating with trade relations personnel, addressing supply chain concerns and communicating directly with patients and field teams
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree with previous Pharma/ Biotech industry is required
- 8- 10 years of experience in customer-focused roles, with an emphasis on Patient Support programs
- Expertise in the health care industry and direct involvement with pharmaceutical companies developing and launching patient support programs
- Successful track record of managing external vendors
- Demonstrated leadership in developing and implementing patient support programs with successful outcomes
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills to foster effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Solid analytical skills to assess patient feedback and program data to make informed data-driven decisions
- Market Access knowledge with a focus on rare disease, and typical utilization management obstacles in this space
- Comprehensive knowledge of compliance standards for pharmaceutical manufacturers
Work Hours/Travel:
- Ability to regularly work extended hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the business needs
- Requires approximately 50% domestic travel

The base salary for this position will range from $190,000 to $200,000. Candidate experience, professional licensing, and geographic location will be taken into consideration.
