The Vascular Technologist II is responsible for conducting tests, and using ultrasound equipment and technologies which support physicians in diagnosing disorders related to the patients internal body parts and blood flow. The Vascular Technologist II is registered as a diagnostic medical sonographer and a vascular technologist. This position assists in training students and interns, and collaborates with Imaging leadership in the development or modification of test procedure and protocols.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Evening, Night, and Alternating Shifts Available
Prepare and maintain diagnostic equipment and supplies.
Schedule patients in a timely and consistent manner.
Perform STAT and ASAPs as outlined in department guidelines.
Respond appropriately to call.
Demonstrate clinical competence.
Make notifications of clinical significance, which could affect the interpretation of a test, including patient history and physiological findings.
Compile all paperwork appropriately and in a timely manner.
Assures transfer of data to interpreting physician.
Utilize appropriate safety measures for all concerned within area of responsibility.
Verify each patient’s identification by armband, or by inquiry of patient that requires certain information known to them to confirm their identity.
Obtain, review and utilize all historical information relevant to the procedure being requested.
Educate and inform patients to promote understanding and cooperation to ensure optimal quality of procedures.
Instruct and orient employees and students in proper performance of diagnostic procedures and functions of the department.
Review test images to check for quality and sufficient coverage.
Compare patients’ most recent scans to previous results and assess diagnostic information.
Provide summary findings for physicians and other medical professionals involved with a patient’s case.
Adhere to OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNREC, and JCAHO safety codes, regulations, and requirements.
Qualifications
Required Certificate Ultrasound
Required Associate's Degree Radiology or Ultrasound
1 year Ultrasound experience Preferred
1 year Vascular experience Preferred
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Required
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or
Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography or
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - . ARRT (VS) or
Registered Vascular Specialist - . RVS CCI
