West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Neurology in the WVU School of Medicine are seeking a Movement Disorders specialist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties: In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students and neurology residents.
Qualifications: Successful candidates must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state licensure. Candidate must have completed a neurology residency program and movement disorders fellowship and be board certified/eligible in neurology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Candidates will join an active multidisciplinary team including neurologists, neurosurgeons, advanced practice providers, neuropathologists, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists for collaboration in the areas of patient care, research and education. WVU Neurology has an active multidisciplinary ALS clinic and the only MDA clinic in West Virginia. Our clinic offers a range of some of the most innovative approaches available including DBS, injections, medications, MR-guided focused ultrasound, rehabilitation and speech therapy. Through a new vision and strategic thrust for neuroscience at WVU, and through basic, applied, and translational/clinical research, the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is a global leader in the discovery, development, and delivery of world-class research in human performance and brain health.
The WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute guides a team of 280 dedicated faculty in providing compassionate patient care and advanced medicine through education, research, and outreach in the many diverse communities we serve. The Institute spearheads efforts to develop innovative solutions for neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.
The Department of Neurology offers patients a full spectrum of innovative therapies for neurologic disease, including stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, headache, immunology, and movement disorders. WVU is a Joint Commission approved Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Center.
