Specialty Authorization Coordinator works closely with clinical departments to ensure all drug and procedural benefits are obtained prior to patient treatment. Accurate assessment and review of patient treatment plans is required to obtain pre-certification requirements, location approval for treatment and duration approved for care.
This position is HYBRID. Office scheduling is required.
Trade school or college graduate in healthcare, healthcare certification or CHAA certification required within 12 months of hire.
Medical terminology and ICD-10 knowledge required.
Two years healthcare required.
Two years of health insurance authorizations, health insurance verification, or registration/billing experience required.
Excellent customer service skills required. Ability to work within treatment plans and maintain positive relationships with clinical departments. Able to determine adequacy and skills of drug dose calculations as deemed necessary by physicians and pharmacy.
Education
- Trade School, High School or College graduate in healthcare Name of Degree (Required)
Certification/Licensure

Experience
- Two years healthcare required.
