Position Summary:

Are you a pro at getting thumbs to pause as people are scrolling through a social feed? Do you love connecting and engaging with audiences? Will you spend that extra five minutes to rewrite and sharpen a post, so it serves the audience better? If so, we’ve got a job for you!

Marketplace is looking for a creative social media producer. We are the most widely heard suite of business shows in the country, reaching more than 10 million people on air, online, and on demand. Our products range from our flagship daily business news show to our portfolio of podcasts, which touch on topics such as relationships and money (“This Is Uncomfortable”), financial literacy for children (“Million Bazillion”), and climate change (“How We Survive”).

The ideal candidate is someone who can engage these different audiences, and who can help us grow and connect with more people by conceiving, producing, and executing innovative social campaigns. You must have sharp social copywriting, editorial judgement, and fact-checking skills. You’ll optimize Marketplace content in a dynamic way across Facebook, Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging social platforms. You have strong instincts for short-form video and visual design. And you have demonstrated success in creating campaigns and content that resonate with diverse audiences.

This position sits in the collective bargaining agreement between MPR and Screen Actors Guild—American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (“SAG-AFTRA”).
