- HVAC System Maintenance & Repair: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heating and cooling systems, including boilers, chillers, air handlers, heat pumps, VAV systems, and exhaust systems.
- Building Management System (BMS) Controls: Monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot problems utilizing the BMS to optimize HVAC performance and energy efficiency. Work with the controls team to diagnose system irregularities and implement corrective actions.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure reliability and longevity. Document findings and perform necessary adjustments to prevent future failures.
- System Installation & Upgrades: Assist with the installation of new HVAC equipment and recommend system upgrades to improve energy efficiency and campus climate control.
- Energy Efficiency & Compliance: Ensure HVAC systems operate in compliance with college policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices for energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to HVAC emergencies, diagnosing system failures and implementing timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with campus facilities, maintenance staff, and outside contractors to ensure optimal operation of HVAC systems.
- Recordkeeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, service logs, and equipment specifications using the college’s work order management system.
- Must have a valid driver's license for at least the last 3 years
- Massachusetts Refrigeration License
- Refrigeration recovery certification.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, particularly in a commercial or institutional setting (college, hospital, or corporate campus experience preferred).
- Strong experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) controls, including troubleshooting and programming adjustments (Johnson Controls, Siemens, Trane, or similar systems experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of a variety of HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, heat pumps, VRF systems, packaged rooftop units, and split systems.
- Experience conducting preventative maintenance programs to enhance system reliability.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting skills- Familiarity with energy efficiency principles and best practices.
- Ability to perform tasks that involve bending, crawling, climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces. Interaction with College personnel/students
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, and outdoor environments depending on seasonal needs.
- Ability to work during off-hours or respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Continuous mental and visual attention is required where work activities require constant alertness and activity.
- Monday to Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM
