Operations Facilitator

The night shift, Operations Facilitator is responsible for providing oversight to a team of hourly employees in a high pace 24/7 manufacturing environment to ensure all products are completed according to work instructions/engineering specification and delivered to the customer with no defects and on-time. 

As the first-line manufacturing supervisor, the Operations Facilitator, will be responsible for assigning and coordinating work to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating employee training, performance assessment, work assignments, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
  • Train new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards. 
  • Ensures that all team members are adequately trained and clearly understand the process instructions, ensuring that the process is correctly applied in the right order; avoid taking short cuts that affect the process integrity. 
  • Ensures employees follow proper work procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, safety rules and quantity standards. 
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. 
  • Investigates incidents and reports findings. 
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives to drive process improvements through the manufacturing environment. 
  • Oversees personnel actions and most day-to-day operations of team. 
  • Approves time sheets for hourly employees, production summaries, overtime and downtime reports.
  • Review production schedules, material and manpower resources.
  • Assign employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements.
  • Maintain a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules and performance.
  • Clearly defines responsibilities and expectations for each team members.
  • Motivates and encourage superior performance. - Leads by Example!
  • Make continuous improvement apart of mission, driving change at all levels. 
  • Champions problem solving. 
  • Acts as the focal point of communications of the team, centralizing the information related to the work.
  • Keeps management aware of team’s progress, needs, etc. 
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma is required, an associate degree is highly preferred 
  • Prior Operations/Manufacturing experience is required
  • Must exhibits and promote companies core values and ethics principals
  • Must be able to work in a moderately heavy manufacturing environment 
  • Must be able to work on a 3-night rotating 12/hour shift
  • Must be able to lead a team and manage/resolve employee conflict
  • Must be capable of effectively interfacing with a variety of internal and external customers
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
  • Must be able to withstand continuous periods of moving, walking, bending, stooping, keeling, twisting motion, climbing and descending stairs and ladders to perform and train individuals on most tasks 
  • Must be mentally sharp and quick to respond
  • Operate a fork truck and/or pallet jack as required
  • Highly detail-oriented with ability to prioritize tasks independently, accurately complete work under tight deadlines, and provide timely and accurate responses to data requests 
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, SAP and ADP would be a plus
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for use at all levels of the organization
  • Strong planning, organizational management skills
  • Excellent people and process management skills
