Hourly Base Rate: $25.73 - $40.00 
Shift: Days, Monday-Friday

Serves as Human Resources Generalist for various human resources functions such as Leave of Absence administration, Workers Compensation, policy guidance, training compliance.  Compliance-heavy, employee-facing and non-union support.

Facilitates and communicates organizational policies and programs and ensures labor law and regulatory compliance.  Provides internal support and guidance to employees and managers/directors. Some examples of duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Manage LOA (FMLA, OFLA, ADA, and others) including benefits coordination as needed
  • Process Workers’ Compensation claims, modified duty, return-to-work, and follow ups.
  • Policy interpretation & compliance guidance
  • LOA/WC reporting & analytics. 
  • Produce Leave Report in coordination with Corporate for HR MOR. 
  • Locally, lead initiative to convert items on PAF into workflow processes in UltiPro in conjunction with Corp team.
  • Manage Employee HealthStream compliance
  • Contractor Management with HealthTrust.
  • Complete EFM filing for items related to job duties.
  • Assists with planning/organizing/coordinating employee recognition events throughout the year with broader Hospital team.  
  • OSHA related duties
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3–5 years HR experience (leave/WC focus)
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, PLO, OFLA, ADA
  • Excellent communication & problem-solving skills
  • Must have the ability to work efficiently and responsibly in an environment with multiple work demands and short time frames.
  • Must possess skills to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to all levels of system personnel including physicians, attorneys, insurance carrier staff and other regulatory agency staff.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, able to organize work/project demands, prioritize, problem-solve and function independently.
  • Requires the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and a strict adherence to confidentiality.
  • Must have the ability to tolerate long periods of sitting, using the keyboard, reading computer screen for extended periods of time, hear and speak with individuals in person or on the telephone, read and write text.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. UKG experience helpful.

Experience, Education, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major or emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field. The equivalent in work experience may be considered.
  • 3-5 years Human Resources Generalist experience required
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills – written, verbal and listening skills.
  • Prior Employee Relations Experience highly desired
  • Prior Labor Relations experience preferred
  • HRCI or SHRM certifications preferred but not required
