Description

Summary:

Manage the day to day Co-op credit functions with a high focus on customer service, internal and external.  Monitor and pursue collection of delinquent consumer accounts.  Coordinate with the Director of Credit on Heartland Credit Company, LLC responsibilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors past due accounts, sending appropriate default notices and contacting customers via telephone. Potential for variable working hours in order to maximize telephone collection effectiveness.
  • Coordinates with others including personnel at company locations to exchange information and monitor past due accounts.
  • Assists in answering customer questions and concerns, specifically accounts receivable and credit related questions.
  • Reviews credit applications, obtains personal credit bureau scores and approves credit accounts within set guidelines.
  • Processes and monitors returned checks, sending letters to customers and contacting via telephone.
  • Assists the Director Credit of Credit with various credit related tasks.
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required, bachelor’s degree preferred; or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as credit applications, procedure manuals and simple contracts.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

Must maintain valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.
