About the Role
In this role, you will:
Assist with routine water and wastewater sampling to support compliance with NPDES/EPA reporting requirements.
Perform process and compliance testing that helps plant operations make informed treatment decisions.
Collect samples at wastewater treatment plants, industries, and local creeks or rivers.
Support Laboratory Specialists with daily testing and documentation.
Periodically clean and maintain the laboratory and sampling equipment.
Contribute to maintaining safe, efficient, and accurate laboratory operations.

- Hourly Employment: Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
- Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.
While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. Many of our current full-time employees started in roster positions, and we encourage you to explore this opportunity as a potential first step in your career with us.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Wastewater Laboratory experience, specifically with an ICP-MS or other analytical instrumentation
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous work experience with the public
- . Previous experience working with the State and Federal regulatory agencies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related Science Field.
