POSITION: Architectural Designer

 

POSITION: Design initial concepts ideas for projects using principles of design that are important for creating aesthetically pleasing and functional buildings; provide physical and digital model making, rendering and detailing using both traditional and digital tools such as computer aided design and building information technology; use advance modelling tools such as DiRoots, Pyrevit and Revizto to run data with in different components of model and generate complex schedules to be used in construction providing precise specifications, quantities and dimensions essential to both the design and construction phases. The data in schedule supports comprehensive optimization and alignment of project parameters, ensuring that all design intricacies are meticulously accounted for in the construction process; learn ethics, code of conduct, contracts and legal issues to prepare for aspects of architecture and licensure; generate a 3D model building with the use of information parameters imported from building components to derive different properties such as building life cycle and cost estimation; use advanced rendering software such as Lumion and Enscape to import the model and create high-quality visualizations, including realistic renderings and immersive walkthroughs, to effectively communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders; conduct BIM coordination across multiple disciplines by utilizing a shared cloud-based model, incorporating precise geographical coordinates, and overseeing the management of drawing sheets. This approach ensures comprehensive integration and synchronization of design elements across various fields; develop

communication skills for working with consultants, contractors and clients as well as collaborating with colleagues on architecture design projects; use building design strategies and green practices to improve the performance of a building and make it more efficient and better for the environment by using less energy and building with sustainable materials; ensure that design is in accordance with building codes and zoning regulations; and understand and apply technical aspects of building systems, including structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (M.E.P.) as well as traditional and latest construction methods.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field plus any amount of experience. Must have any amount of experience with the following: Develop comprehensive architectural project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, material schedules, and construction details, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the project phases; Perform site visits for high-rise projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and the project team to resolve any issues that arise during construction. Conduct site assessments to monitor progress, address discrepancies, and provide design adjustments when necessary; Work on Transit projects and affordable high-rise residential buildings, contributing to design development, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to regulations, and optimizing solutions for functionality and sustainability; Utilize digital tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Lumion to create detailed digital models and renderings that accurately represent design concepts. Leverage these tools to streamline the design process, improve collaboration across teams, and ensure precision in construction documentation. By incorporating BIM with Revit, enhance coordination between architectural, structural, and MEP systems, while AutoCAD, Rhino, and SketchUp allow for detailed, scalable visualizations to better communicate design intent to clients and stakeholders; Document existing conditions, including structural elements, site topography, and utilities; Design visually appealing presentations, using architectural drawings, diagrams, and other visuals to effectively communicate design ideas and project concepts; Support accurate design development, minimize errors during construction, and allow for seamless integration of site data into the BIM environment for effective project planning and execution. Less than 20% domestic travel required. Up to 20% remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite.

 

Full time. The pay range for this role is $62,000.00 to $79,000.00. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
