Location: St. Louis area, on-site – Candidates must be within commuting distance; relocation is not available for this role

Summary: In this role, you will work closely with the Vice President of Finance & Controller and play an active part in all areas of accounting and finance for The H-J Family of Companies. You will support daily financial operations, contribute to process improvement, and assist in providing accurate and timely financial reporting to support business decisions.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee customer invoices and collections.
  • Maintain accurate customer and supplier records.
  • Develop and improve accounting procedures to ensure effective and consistent practices.
  • Assist with managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Support resolution of ship holds, finance and accounting issues, and credit applications.
  • Provide financial, administrative, and operational support related to pricing, returned material authorizations (RMAs), case credits, and management reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure data integrity and efficient information flow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, MBA or Master of Accountancy highly desirable.
  • 2–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (EPICOR experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Microsoft Report Builder preferred.
  • International business experience, including multiple currencies, is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, initiative, and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • May require occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in professional office settings.
