Your role

At Allens, our business teams are specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges.

You'll be a part of our Leadership & Learning (L&L) team based in our Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth offices. In this role, you will play a crucial part in driving the firm's learning and development (L&D)  agenda with particular focus on our Senior Associates. You will embed proven theory and frameworks across leadership, client experience, and digital capabilities in both existing and new initiatives, drawing on both your own and the team's expertise.

The role will offer you a dynamic and supportive team and environment, where you'll have the opportunity to directly apply your expertise and experience to support Allens' firmwide strategy and priorities.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Set the L&L agenda for Senior Associates

Co-define the capability priorities (leadership, client experience, digital fluency) and translate them into a clear annual roadmap aligned to firm strategy and practice group needs.

  • Co-design highimpact learning solutions and content

Architect asynchronous pathways (programs, labs, coaching, peer learning, stretch assignments) that embed proven frameworks and adult learning principles, within the context of being a Senior Associate at Allens, maintaining a library of high quality internal IP and external resources.

  • Embed recognised leadership frameworks that are part of the firm's Leadership strategy

Contextualise leadership models (e.g. growth mindset, Leader as coach, coaching, EQ/EI, influence without authority) to the Senior Associate journey.

  • Collaborate with CX-lead to elevate client experience capability

Build modules and simulations focused on client listening, commerciality, stakeholder management, and exceptional experience recovery – aligned to the firm’s Client Promise principles.

  • Co-develop digital capabilities and leverage learning technologies

Lift digital confidence and adoption (e.g., legal tech, AIassisted work, data literacy, workflow automation, knowledge systems) through practical, rolerelevant learning and change enablement, leveraging our LMS (Workday), analytics dashboards, and digital delivery tools

  • Facilitate and coach

Personally deliver executive roundtables and coaching, building facilitation capability within Partners and Managing Associates to scale learning impact .

  • Ensure regulatory and CPD alignment

Map programs to relevant CPD categories and support the team and system to maintain accurate records, audit readiness, and compliance reporting.

  • Build capability in the L&L team

Coach and mentor team members; establish standards, templates, and ways of working that scale quality and consistency across programs.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. Hybrid working (60% in the office) is how we work however flexibility matters at Allens, so if you are seeking hybrid working or are looking for flexibility in your work, we would be happy to discuss what arrangements would work best for you.

About you

You will have:

  • Experience implementing learning initiatives in professional services firms 

  • Substantial experience in Learning and Development or related roles

  • A degree in Human Resources or Technology related field

  • Exposure to project management, change management, digital fluency, or curriculum design (certifications are valued)

  • Knowledgeable of AI technologies, e-learning technologies, and virtual reality training

  • Strong interpersonal skills (i.e., listening, coaching, negotiating, influencing)

  • A results-driven mindset, commercial acumen, and a commitment to inclusive, learner-centred design.
