Want to bring ideas to life?

You’re in the right place. If you’re looking for a fresh challenge, why choose Aurecon? It comes down to one, crucial question. What kind of world do you want to create for the next generation? Truth is, the decisions being made right now will determine the future of everything – from the local community to the entire planet. One of those decisions is: who do you decide to work for?

How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?

As a Cybersecurity Advisory Consultant, you’ll play a key role in strengthening Aurecon’s security posture by providing expert advice and ensuring our solutions align with best practices and our risk profile. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess security needs, promote alignment with architectural patterns, and guide the implementation of secure, effective solutions.

You’ll be part of our Cyber Security Advice and Awareness practice, a team dedicated to reducing Aurecon’s exposure to existing and emerging cyber threats. The team takes a risk-based approach to security, balancing protection with the need for openness, autonomy, and collaboration. We focus on cloud-first security advisory services, including Azure deployment alignment, third-party vendor assessments, client security questionnaires, compliance monitoring, and promoting secure coding practices. Together, we enable the business to innovate securely and confidently in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’:

  • Providing advice and identifying any security controls to Aurecon system owners to ensure the solutions comply with defined client security requirements.
  • Conducting ICT security assessments to ensure the solutions comply with Aurecon's Information Security Policies.
  • Determining and discussing the impact of any potential vulnerability, proposing treatment options, mitigation strategies, and be able to articulate residual risk.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders, to lead and conduct Azure tenant review activities.
  • Development of awareness briefs, security procedures and documentation, and business processes.
  • Developing ICT security documentation in collaboration with Aurecon's Risk and Assurance function

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience conducting security assessments, solution reviews, and identifying risks across systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in Cyber Security (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and contributing to a high-performing team.

We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life. Our Aurecon Attributes describe the types of people we bring together. We don’t expect you to have all eight, but we’re excited to see which ones resonate most with you.

How will your future be shaped by us?
