The Opportunity

AIA has a newly created opportunity for a Head of Tender Propositions – Growth to join their team in either Melbourne or Sydney. Within this role you will support the development and promote strategic growth opportunities across AIA’s Group distribution segment via supporting new business growth in large Superannuation Funds (traditional and non-traditional).

You will have the opportunity to work with the team to ensure AIA’s propositions are reframed as a tangible benefit that solves a fund-specific problem and demonstrates member value or outcomes - through service model, data capability, digital innovation, or adjacent service support.

To do this successfully you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end refresh of AIA’s tender response template, ensuring alignment with the evolving expectations of the superannuation industry and enhancing our competitive positioning
  • Spearhead a comprehensive brand refresh initiative, elevating AIA’s market presence through contemporary design, refined tone of voice, and a sharper strategic narrative that resonates with today’s stakeholders
  • Develop tailored RFP responses by proactively engaging with consultants and fund stakeholders to understand each fund’s five-year strategic priorities, ensuring our proposals are deeply aligned with their long-term vision
  • Conduct in-depth research including analysis of annual reports, member meeting minutes, and fund communications to understand each fund’s brand identity and member demographics—enabling highly personalised and culturally aligned proposals
  • Champion the development of unique value propositions across service delivery, data analytics, member engagement, AI applications, and governance—positioning AIA as a forward-thinking, strategic partner
  • Ensure AIA’s proposition is not only well-articulated on paper but also brought to life during site visits, with a focus on relevance, authenticity, and competitive differentiation
  • Encourage internal stakeholder collaboration to ensure consistent messaging and delivery during tender presentations, tailored to the specific tone and expectations of each fund
  • Partner closely with the GM of Partnerships to secure impactful testimonials and references from existing clients, reinforcing AIA’s reputation and credibility in the market

Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Previous experience within the Life Insurance or Superannuation Industry
  • A deep understanding of superannuation and insurance, with established relationships across key superannuation fund targets
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products and market dynamics
  • Proven sales, negotiation and presentation capabilities
  • Tier 1 qualification
  • The ability to coach and mentor others
  • A high level of commercial acumen
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and networking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks governing the insurance industry
