SGL Carbon's North American Shared Services Center in Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters SGL Carbon, LLC in North America. The Shared Services Center is comprised of approximately 50 employees who support the SGL Carbon Business Units by providing quality services, leadership and accountability through excellence, teamwork, open and continuous communication, integrity and passion for success. All key administrative functions are represented at the Charlotte, NC site.
Summary of Job Content:
This position has the overall responsibility to research, analyze, evaluate and make design recommendations regarding corporate benefit plans/programs. Plans and manages the implementation and administration of agreed upon corporate benefit programs, policies and procedures. This position is responsible for leading and managing activities to support HRIT, Benefits, HR Operations, and Recruiting including managing the HR Service Center's day-to-day administration and tasks. This position collaborates with HRIT to manage the ongoing process management of SGL's HR Workstream systems insuring data quality, information effectiveness, and integration with SAP, Dayforce, and third party administrators such as DB Calc, external Health and Welfare and Retirement vendor systems.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Manage broker relationship, collaborates with broker on benefit plan marketing strategy, developing recommendations of renewal rates with current providers and/ or in structuring new programs and contracting with new providers.
2. Develop HR Operational goals, objectives, tactics, and KPIs to ensure alignment with department and company strategy. Manage performance and development of direct reports including coaching and training.
3. Develops continuous improvement of HR operational business processes to ensure efficient and accurate workflow. Collaborate with HRIT to best utilize system capabilities to deliver required HR services and continuous improvement objectives.
4. Manages the interfaces of data to external vendors, plan providers, auditors and consultants, including providing data to actuaries for annual defined benefit plan valuation.
5. Manages administration of active and retiree benefit plans such as the Medical, Dental Life & AD&D, Disability, Pension and 401k.
6. Manages communication of benefit plan design changes to carriers to ensure compliance with ERISA mandated Open Enrollment periods and Life Event changes.
7. Manages annual Open Enrollment requirements including review of employee communication materials, development of open enrollment booklets, Summary Plan Description documents and other legally required communication media.
8. Facilitate the legal review and execution of HR contracts including benefit plan documents, contracts, insurance policies including internal legal review.
9. Disciplinary oversight of regional talent acquisition service delivery and manage local talent acquisition requirements.
10. Manages HR compliance with regulatory reporting and standards and with internal company policies.
Skills:
• Strong computer skills with a firm knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, SAP, Success Factors or other HRIS system.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations such as but not limited to COBRA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, OFCCP, NLRA, and other federal and state employment and wage and hour regulations.
• Excellent communication and employee relations skills.
• Must be highly detail oriented, have proactive problem-solving, planning and organizing skills.
• Must have a strong ability to prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-moving environment
Experiences:
• Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred
• Must have 10 or more years of experience in benefit administration.
• Preferred system experience with SAP, Success Factors, and Dayforce
