THE ROLE
Pure Storage is transforming how enterprises harness the power of their data. As data platforms and AI workloads continue to evolve, customer success depends on seamless integration across the modern data and analytics ecosystem. We are seeking an experienced Director of Solutions Engineering – Data & Analytics to lead the strategy for Pure’s technical integrations and solution designs with leading data and analytics platforms.
This leader will own the technical strategy for data platform integrations, act as a trusted advisor to field teams and customers, and work closely with partners and system integrators to drive adoption of Pure’s solutions. The role requires deep expertise in data architectures, integration frameworks, and modern analytics platforms—paired with hands-on ability to design, prototype, and demonstrate solutions that deliver enterprise value.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own Pure’s strategy for integration with key data and analytics platforms, including Spark, Trino, SQL engines, HDFS, RDBMS, S3, Iceberg, data fabrics, and metadata management solutions.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute integration initiatives to maximize Pure’s relevance across data pipelines and analytics ecosystems.
- Partner with engineering and product management to define integration requirements and ensure alignment with Pure’s roadmap.
- Serve as the trusted technical advisor for field solution architects, systems engineers, and sales account executives on data and analytics projects.
- Provide technical expertise in designing solutions that integrate Pure’s storage and data platforms with leading analytics and AI environments.
- Support strategic customer engagements with tailored demos, solution architectures, and proof-of-concepts.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key channel partners, ISVs, and global system integrators.
- Evangelize Pure’s data and analytics integration strategy in customer meetings, partner briefings, and industry forums.
- Co-develop solution collateral, integration guides, and joint reference architectures with partners to accelerate adoption.
- Lead by example with the ability to roll up sleeves and build integrated demos, POCs, and reference solutions.
- Develop technical collateral and best practices that enable Pure’s field and partner ecosystem.
- Mentor and guide the global SE community in executing data and analytics solution strategies.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 12–15+ years of experience in data architecture, solutions engineering, or enterprise technical leadership.
- Deep technical expertise with modern data and analytics platforms: Spark, Trino, SQL engines, HDFS, RDBMS, S3, Iceberg, data pipelines, data fabrics, and metadata management.
- Strong background designing integrated enterprise solutions involving data infrastructure and analytics.
- Experience collaborating with sales teams, solution architects, and channel/SI partners to drive customer success.
- Hands-on experience building demos, prototypes, and integration collateral.
- Strong technical acumen in both data infrastructure and analytics ecosystems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence C-level, technical, and field stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in both strategic and hands-on capacities.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build alignment between product, engineering, sales, and partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field required.
- Advanced degree preferred. #LI-ONSITE
Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
