Compensation: $30.00 - 38.00 per hour

Location: Woodinville, WA

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, with flexibility for month end/special projects. *Schedules may change based on business needs. May include holidays and alternate workdays or hours as needed.

About the job:

The Staff Accountant will support the Senior Accountant, Managed Properties, in preparing financial statements for short-term rental properties operated by Reside. This role is also responsible for processing Accounts Payable for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions and compliance with company policies. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Maintain general ledger accounts for assigned properties.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and accruals.
  • Prepare and complete bank reconciliations.
  • Perform month-end balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Review, process, and code all invoices and payments in a timely manner.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and related schedules.
  • Assist with variance analysis and provide supporting documentation when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain organized financial records for audit readiness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • May assist with cross-training of staff when needed. 

Travel: 

This position could require minimal travel, up to 5% of the time.

About you:

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance required; or equivalent experience. 
  • 0–2 years of accounting experience; property management accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience with NetSuite and bill.com preferred. 

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in preparation and understanding of monthly financial statements.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel; ability to work efficiently with formulas and spreadsheets.
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems, preferably NetSuite.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to review work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Work Environment: 

  • Standard office work environment with assigned desk space, computer, and phone.
  • Typical office noise levels including telephones, conversations, and general background activity.
  • Remote work environment, when applicable, will vary based on individual home office setup. 

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, and listen.
  • Frequent use of hands for computer work, including keyboard and mouse operations.
  • Ability to dial, answer, and speak on a telephone.
  • Occasional walking and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to focus for extended periods and work under occasional stressful conditions.
  • Vision requirements include close vision for computer and document review.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds for boxes, documents, or office supplies.
