About the Department

Performs semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining the City’s vehicles and mechanical equipment. Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude. Exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques.

Position Duties

• High school diploma or GED. 
• Three (3) or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. 
• Must have a valid Florida Class B commercial driver's license with an air brake endorsement and satisfactory driving record throughout employment. 
• Must have or be able to obtain an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification within six (6) months of hire. 
• Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certifications preferred.

Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
 
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
