The Senior Event Sales Manager at Hyatt Regency San Francisco plays a pivotal role in driving revenue through proactive sales, strategic planning, and seamless execution of a diverse range of events—from intimate boardroom meetings to large-scale local conferences, galas, fundraisers, and milestone celebrations. With 72,000 square feet of event space and 821 newly renovated guestrooms, our hotel offers a dynamic canvas for creativity and excellence in event delivery.
As the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments, the Senior Event Sales Manager ensures seamless coordination throughout the event lifecycle, consistently exceeding planner expectations. This role leads by example, mentoring team members to foster collaboration, growth, and high performance while refining and executing the local team’s strategic sales initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading Local Event banquet food & beverage sales efforts, including menu planning, agenda setting, and hotel meeting services.
- Reviewing contracts and facilitating communication before, during, and after events to ensure exceptional service.
- Hosting hotel tours, maintaining strong client relationships, and participating in or leading internal meetings.
- Collaborating closely with assigned administrative assistants, support staff, and the Director of Events on departmental projects.
- Managing multiple complex events with precision and professionalism while maximizing revenue opportunities.

This position has a salary range from $104,500-$110,000.

Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
· Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in hotel event sales or event planning, ideally within a full-service hotel or resort environment.
· Previous selling experience with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding quotas and revenue targets.
· Preference for candidates with Hyatt experience.
Event Planning & Sales Expertise
· Strong background in both corporate and social event planning.
· Skilled in prospecting, account management, and client re-solicitation to drive future business.
· Ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously with precision and professionalism.
· Knowledge of meeting room set-ups, sleeping room configurations, and hotel operational departments including Banquets, Food & Beverage, Audio-Visual, Guest Services and Housekeeping.
Client Service & Communication
· Passion for delivering personalized, high-touch client service in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; refined presentation and negotiation abilities.
· Ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
· Present a professional appearance and confident demeanor.
Technical & Operational Skills
· Proficient in sales and catering software systems (e.g., Envision, Opera) and Microsoft Suite of computer programs.
· Understanding of contracts, MSAs, and revenue management strategies.
· Ability to relay accurate forecast information and maintain price integrity across rooms and F&B.
· Experience in managing meeting space to maximize revenue.
