The Inspector independently evaluates and applies standard engineering and inspection techniques, procedures, and criteria, to make recommendations for repairs to customer supplied equipment. Under supervision, the person in this position will occasionally, in accordance with sound engineering principles and standards make revised or new drawings to modify customer supplied equipment. Making changes and improving practices and procedures ensuring all areas of location are receiving information necessary to provide improvements and rework to customers’ rolls.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ongoing formal and informal training with understanding of applicable Specifications, Internal Operating Procedures (I.O.P.'s), company systems and software.
Inspect rolls (Incoming/In Process/Outgoing) and produce reports of findings – using cameras, computers, databases and/or other techniques as they are developed.
Maintain and manage warehouse inventory with a high level of organization.
Generate Metal, Incoming and final Inspection reports
Prepares complete and accurate Bills of Material and/or detailed drawings with-in time schedules.
Select manufacturing tolerances using established industry procedures and standards
Develop and maintain strong technical competence in methods and practices used in Quality Assurance & Engineering with respect to design standards and products
Learn to use measuring instruments to check and perform job functions.
Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
Requirements
A high school education with previous manufacturing experience; ideally a minimum of one to three years’ experience. Knowledge of papermaking machinery a plus, but not required. Willing to work with and train candidates with a high level of initiative and personal motivation.
