Position Summary
Viable Engineering Solutions is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Manager of Compliance & Business Operations to lead and execute critical functions across regulatory compliance, client standards, internal operations, and business support. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and can seamlessly navigate between technical, regulatory, and business domains. The ideal candidate will also possess strong project management skills and the ability to research, evaluate, and implement software tools that enhance HR, Safety, and compliance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Client Compliance
- Research and interpret FAR flow-down requirements and other client-imposed standards (HR, environmental, cybersecurity, ethics, etc.).
- Develop, document, and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance across the workforce.
- Lead internal readiness for client audits across HR, accounting, safety, cybersecurity, and operational practices.
- Stay current on industry-specific safety regulations and ensure workforce adherence through training and documentation.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement software tools that support HR, Safety, and compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate with legal or compliance consultants as needed for specialized guidance.
- Participate in internal audits and readiness reviews for client or regulatory inspections.
Business Operations & Strategy
- Attend client and internal meetings to gather information on new projects and opportunities.
- Summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with accounting to prepare project quotes, budgets, and annual expenditure forecasts.
- Review contracts and internal policies, identify areas for negotiation or improvement, and participate in negotiation processes when needed.
- Manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with department leads to align procedures with operational needs and client expectations.
- Create, review, and negotiate business agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, and internal MOUs.
- Track contract renewals and expirations.
- Serve as a liaison between HR, accounting, operations, and external partners to ensure smooth business operations.
Departmental Oversight
- Provide oversight and guidance to HR and accounting teams, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal standards.
- Support cross-functional coordination to ensure smooth execution of business operations.
Vendor & Facilities Coordination
- Source, evaluate, and manage vendor relationships for supplies, services, and facility needs.
- Oversee facility maintenance tasks including scheduling repairs, inspections, and upgrades.
- Ensure vendors meet performance expectations and contractual obligations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, operations, or business administration, preferably in a regulated or client-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of FAR, OSHA, environmental regulations, and cybersecurity standards.
- Experience with policy development, audit preparation, and contract review.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP or accounting systems a plus.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering services, or government contracting.
- Familiarity with Miami-Dade NOA, Florida Product Approval, or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience researching and implementing software tools for operational efficiency and compliance.
