Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing:
Assist with development of a comprehensive plan outlining a business approach to reaching and engaging the target audiences for the Highlands Ranch Mansion, the Highlands Ranch Senior Center and the Metro District’s recreation programs. Work with the facility and programming teams to achieve established goals.
Serve as the marketing lead in developing specific strategies to market these unique and popular facilities and programs. Measure and track marketing efforts as well as results for each of these facilities and program areas.
Maintain a professional and consistent brand for each facility and program, following the Metro District’s style guide standards.
Responsibilities include assisting facility and program teams in the marketing of and supporting special events.
Responsible for the design of accessible social media messaging and graphics, flyers, postcards, brochures/marketing collateral, photography and development of video briefs and clips. Also, responsible for the content, design and coordination of accessible e-Newsletters and newsletters.
Media Relations:
Assist the Community Relations Manager and team with media relations, social media management, news releases, website news posts, as well as other Community Relations projects as needed.
Assist the Community Relations Manager with mansion, senior center and recreation articles for the printed Messenger magazine, the website, marketing materials and industry publications/news outlets.
Peripheral Duties:
Miscellaneous projects such as providing support for marketing the Highlands Ranch Park & Recreation Foundation and the Friends of the Highlands Ranch Senior Center.
There will be opportunities to assist the Community Relations Manager and team with other projects and activities including the Highlands Ranch Citizens Academy, community outreach, public speaking and special projects.
Other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications; and
- Applicants for this position must have a minimum of five (5) years’ working experience in the related field. Marketing experience in a business-to-business environment is a plus; and
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Necessary Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge and ability to design, edit, and create websites.
- Proficient in the use of Office 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Preferred experience with Adobe Premier or other video editing software.
- Photography experience a plus.
- Must have superior verbal, written, and presentation skills, enabling clear and effective communication with diverse audiences.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials of the public and vendors.
- Must possess exceptional organizational skills.
- Represent the District in a professional manner, exemplifying integrity and excellence always.
- Skilled in operating the listed tools and equipment, demonstrating a strong understanding of their functionality and maintenance requirements.
- Ability to perform the essential duties listed above.
- Physically able to move about on work sites and under adverse field conditions.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours, when necessary, which includes evenings and weekends throughout the metro area. This flexibility ensures timely participation in critical discussions and events.
Supervision Received
Works under the direct supervision of the Community Relations Manager.
Supervision Exercised
No supervisory duties are currently included in this position; however, this person may exercise supervision over events staff, the Community Relations Intern, temporary staff or volunteers as assigned.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, mainly Monday through Friday in the office. Due to the nature of this position, some evening and weekend hours will be required. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Tools and Equipment Used
Computers, related hardware, computer-aided-design software, Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, Adobe, Microsoft products (Excel, Forms, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Word, etc.), web and database software, and multi-line VoIP phone. General office equipment such as multi-function printer/scanner/copier, plotter, web-fax, etc. Operation of motor vehicles in tight spaces.
