About the Department
Under the direction of the Director of College and Career Pathways & Partnerships, The Career Pathways Coordinator supports regional initiatives to expand student access to high-demand career pathways in fields such as advanced manufacturing, IT, and healthcare. In addition, the Coordinator convenes partners across K–12, postsecondary, workforce, business, and community organizations to align strategies, strengthen system capacity, and ensure equitable access to career exploration, and transition opportunities.
Salary:
The full compensation range for this position is $68,762.89 - $83,670.02 annually. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.
Assignment:
This position will be full-time and work 220 days per year. The person in this role will focus on regional strategy, partnership development, and system alignment that improves awareness, access, and outcomes for students. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a proven track record of building and sustaining impactful partnerships among educational institutions, businesses, and community organizations. They will bring demonstrated experience supporting diverse and underserved student populations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the ability to effectively facilitate meetings, workshops, and collaborative initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.

Position Duties
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate development of regional career pathway strategies (e.g., Advanced Manufacturing/IT, Healthcare) that expand student enrollment in high-demand pathways and increase postsecondary credential completion.
- Guide creation of roadmaps, community engagement plans, and workforce plans with clear, employer-informed outcomes.
- Launch and convene regional leadership teams of K–12, higher education, employers, and students to guide strategy development and implementation. Convene ad-hoc workgroups to co-design and implement programming aligned with sector strategies.
- Plan and convene annual Business–Education Summits for partner review, feedback, and recognition of progress.
- Coordinate sector-focused events, and targeted initiatives (e.g., nPower Girls, healthcare career events) that engage students and families in exploring high-demand careers.
- Support the Development of communication tools to help students, families, and counselors understand labor market demand, required skills, training options, and career planning costs.
- Design and deliver professional learning of labor market outlooks and workplace skills and co-lead dual credit alignment workshops with K–12 educators and postsecondary faculty to expand stackable course maps and early college credit opportunities.
- Coordinate employer involvement in classrooms, career exploration, and work-based learning initiatives, including sector-specific internship and pathway development groups; Support defining employer-informed credentials of value and identification of essential STEM/21st century skills for regional pathways.
- Lead collection and reporting of participation, demographic, credential, and outcome data to track impact and ensure accountability across regional strategies.
- Document processes and responsibilities assumed by partners in implementing the regional strategies.
- Collaborate with internal College and Career Pathways programs and other ESD112 programs to increase capacity and effectiveness in district support.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, Workforce Development, Counseling, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Three years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- K–12 or postsecondary education, workforce development, or career/college advising.
- Convening or managing cross-sector partnerships (e.g., education, workforce, business, community organizations).
- Coordinating regional or multi-organization initiatives.
- Experience with project coordination, tracking deliverables, and using data for reporting or program evaluation.
- Experience designing or supporting regional strategy development (roadmaps, community engagement plans, or workforce planning).
- Five years of experience in education, workforce, or regional partnership development.
- Experience managing grants, budgets, or reporting requirements tied to deliverables.
- Familiarity with Washington’s Career Connect Washington framework, dual credit systems, and workforce/education data.
- Experience leading professional development or training for educators or advisors.
- Demonstrated success in employer engagement strategies (e.g., internships, work-based learning, industry credential pathways).
