About the Department
The Public Records section provides training sessions to boards and commissions on the Open Meetings Act ("OMA"). The ADL will also work closely with the Office of Urban Analytics & Innovation to review all products under development for the Open Data portal. The Public Records section represents the City in Mandamus actions in the court of Claims, 8th District Court of Appeals, Court of Common Pleas and Ohio Supreme Court.
Position Duties
The most competitive candidate will:
- Proactively stay up to date on case law and legislative updates to the PRA and OMA.
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of people including elected officials, City employees, members of the media and the public.
- Prioritize competing projects on short deadlines.
- Negotiate, collaborate, offer ideas and problem-solve.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio and in good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court.
